I’m Lisa, the woman behind The Modern Nonni. I’m a proud Gen Xer, a mother of seven, a grandmother, a business professional, and a college student. My life is full of family, responsibilities, laughter, and more than a few moments when I wonder how everything will fit into one day. But I wouldn’t trade this season of growth for anything.

I created this space for anyone who believes that life doesn’t stop unfolding at a certain age. We can love the life we’ve built and still feel called to learn something new, chase a dream, or begin again.

Family Is My Heart

Being a mother and Nonni is one of my greatest joys. I treasure the little moments: time with my grandchildren, family gatherings, conversations around the table, and the traditions that connect generations. My energetic young grandson keeps me on my toes, reminding me to laugh, stay curious, and be fully present.

Faith Is My Foundation

My faith in God is not simply one part of my life; it is the foundation that helps me navigate all the other parts. Through challenges, changes, and unexpected opportunities, I lean on His guidance. Faith gives me courage when the road feels uncertain and reminds me that each chapter has meaning and purpose.

Still Learning, Still Growing

Returning to college in my 50s while balancing work and family has been both challenging and deeply rewarding. I’m pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration at Southern New Hampshire University, and I’m learning that determination and an open mind matter more than having every answer at the start.

As a Gen Xer, I didn’t grow up with today’s technology at my fingertips. Digital tools and marketing platforms can still surprise me, but I’m willing to learn. Each new skill is proof that growth has no expiration date.

Purpose Beyond the Everyday

My professional life in operations and business development has strengthened my love of helping people, solving problems, and building something meaningful. Outside of work and school, I find joy in cooking, gardening, exploring new business ideas, and creating a welcoming home for the people I love.

Why The Modern Nonni?

Because I believe we can honor our roots while embracing change. We can be devoted to our families without setting aside our own goals. We can approach new technology with curiosity, celebrate small victories, and trust God with the journey ahead.

Here I’ll share stories of faith, family, grandmotherhood, lifelong learning, career, and new adventures—along with the lessons I’m still learning along the way. My hope is that you leave feeling encouraged to make room for your own next chapter.
